Like two superheroes going against each other in a comic book movie, gigantic online retailer Amazon and entertainment conglomerate Disney are at each other’s throats over potential pricing for upcoming Disney movies set to go on sale in Blu-ray and DVD format. At the core of the issue is the manufacturer’s suggested retail price [MSRP] which is a constantly fluctuating number designed to get both the manufacturer and the retailer profits.
Currently, while the dispute is ongoing, Amazon is not selling Blu-rays or DVDs of “Captain America: The Winter Soldier”, “Maleficent” and “Muppets: Most Wanted” and is only allowing Instant Video access to such titles.
