    A Mega-Nasty Futurama Christmas

I would like to begin by appologizing to anybody who was offended by the hell comment. What I meant to say there was that I thought the material was so mean, that laughing at it would itself be like a sin. Also, I don't have many misgivings about "Futurama", with the possible exception of...

    A Mega-Nasty Futurama Christmas

How can any of you like this unclassy, cynical view of the holiday season? I just think there is too much of a mean streak here for this piece of junk to ever work as a satire.

    A Mega-Nasty Futurama Christmas

(Am I posting in the right place, or should I put this in the "Adult Swim" forum, since that's where the show now airs? Outside the parenthasies is my columnizing.) The Kranks are beginning to look a lot like the Baileys right about now. I just did something dumb now, I changed the channel...

Were the 80s a low point for Animation?

Well, I wouldn't. Now, the 1970's were an age of total crap for animation, with only a few good animated features here and there (I can't say, since I haven't seen most of them). But a lot of people have been complaining about how bad they were, and no wonder. The 70's cartoons I did see...

    Open Season trailer

Well, the animation looks incredibly conventional. But the concept is amusing enough, with forest animals making a very human response to the hunters. The voice performances are alright. I liked the squirrel with the scottish accent, and then you have the final scene with Ashton Kutcher as the...

    Talkback-Recent FOP Episodes

Now, I know I've seen a thread for "Timmy TV" ("Dimmy" is also mentioned, but that is supposed to say "Talkin' Trash"), but there are no other threads for the recent new eps of the show. And that's a shame, because I have a through review of the worst one of the bunch, "It's a Wishful Life"...

The Simpsons "Home Away From Homer" - Talkback

This episode had an interesting enough premise, and the plot outline & story map were nicely ploted out. It's just that, the execution was horrendous. To say that the way to get Ned to rent out his room was labored would be to insult labor. Then, we get the interesting concept where Ned dosen't...

The South Park Movie: SE Coming this...never

When I read this blurb at the South Park Scriptorium just now, I stopped dead in my tracks: I couldn't beleive what I was reading, so I went over to the interview that mentioned this detail, and I went from mad and dissapointed to amazed. The strange thing is, there is another detail on the...

Animation Domination: The Simpsons - "Don't Fear the Roofer" (Spoilers)

I would agree with the guy who panned the start of the episode for being mean-spirited. And the rest worked, sort of...but it couldn't shake off that nasty funk. But Ray Romano gave a good performance.

    A Movie that Scared You...

The beginning of each one? I think that might have been the Warner Brothers logo. I know some people were scared by that.

South Park "The Death of Eric Cartman" Talkback (spoilers)

Now we've got references to previous adventures (including the Special Olympics, Scott Tenorman and Sally Struthers). And, by my count, we've got the third reference to KFC on the show (at least since last season). The first two were in "Cartman's Incredible Gift" (one wrongfully convicted...

The Kim Possible Movie (Series Finale) "So The Drama" Talkback (MAJOR SPOILERS)

I only saw, like, half of it, but nevertheless, I'm extremely impressed. I liked how Disney Channel vouchered for near feature-quality animation for this Disney Channel Original Movie, which does give it a theatrical quality we may never see in theatres. I mean, Disney Television Animation has...

The Simpsons "On A Clear Day I Can't See My Sister" - Talkback

It just aired, again. It started out clean enough, with Bart picking on Lisa as per usual. I saw that joke mentioned earlier with Skinner and Krabopple, and it was cute until that piece of bad taste humor (Skinner kissing a mummy). Lisa is eventually fed up, and decides to take out a...

    Movies You're Looking Forward To?

I have a few no-brainers opening this year to answer your question. Star Wars-Episode III-Revenge of the Sith; War of the Worlds; Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire; Batman Begins; The Fantastic Four; The Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy; Charlie and the Chocolate Factory. There is an...

The Simpsons "The Seven-Beer Snitch" - Talkback

Maybe I should just post my opinion on this thing. It started out with some potential, and it would have worked if we got a plot where Springfield really does go into its rivalry with Shelbyville. But no, their plan to try and one-up Shelbyville in class by building an arts centre is only a...

    TV Funhouse

Vomit Gag=TRITE Character design=Hanna-Barberian (I mean, Micheal Jackson, as does Tara Reid and Lindsay Lohan, seem to have Betty Rubble eyes, and that bear thing looks a little like Boo Boo.) Yeah, I saw it, too.

"South Park"- "The Losing Edge"(4-6-05)- Talkback

Oh, yeah. As with last week's episode, South Park does even more great movie parodies. This time, the final sequence was a deadringer for "Rocky", including the manager, Mickey and the line "I didn't hear no bell".

    Cooltoons presents an annual tradition...

Wow, I didn't even know that Cooltoons still had a newsletter. And any movie co-starring Paris Hilton and Lindsay Lohan is sure to be a bigger orgy than Closer (which, by the way, is now out on DVD).

"South Park"- "Best Friends Forever"-(3-30-05)- Talkback(TERRI SCHIAVO PARODY!!!)

I can easily tell the message here. But overall, I liked the movie parodies. The Lord of the Rings: The Two Towers-The battle between heaven and hell obviously reeks of the Battle of Helm's Deep. Constantine-Kenny is the "Keanu Reeves" figure in this big game of Battleship between God and the...

    South Park "Die Hippie Die!"

At last, the show seems to be coming back to its senses. Here, we get a really funny spoof of disaster movies as Cartman faces his ultimate enemies: The hippies. Cartman gives a good performance as he plays that character in a disaster movie that nobody believes until its too late. 4/5 is...

Toon Zone Talkback - Kids WB To Give Looney Tunes Extreme Makeover

"Humor"? (Bursts out into laughter) Yeah, that's a farce! Seriously, the only way for the idea to work is for the characters to stay the way they are and then go into fits of action in a satirical sense. They do not need to get a "Teen Titans"-style makeover. (That makes no sense.)

Weekend Box Office: Audiences 'Hitch' on to Will Smith again!

Now don't go hatin' on the cast of Son of the Mask (well, maybe except for Jamie Kennedy). You seem to be forgetting that Alan Cumming is actually pretty talented, Bob Hoskins was Detective Eddie Valient in Who Framed Roger Rabbit? and Ben Stein seems to simply get away with his involvment on...

The Simpsons "Homer and Ned's Hail Mary Pass" talkback (spoilers)

Well, this episode could use a good tearing into. This is a prime example of how the humor of "The Simpsons" has overshadowed the plot and failed to make a plausable story. I call this disorder "The Shark Tale Syndrome". We start with Homer teaching many sports stars how to gloat about their...

    Favorite Don Bluth movie?

Well, I really like the style of Don Bluth, but I would say that my favorite films that he directed are “All Dogs Go to Heaven” and “Anastasia”. Both have good animation (bogged down a tad by some clunky visuals), real nice stories, and GLORIOUS songs. I agree that it is surprising to see that...

The Simpsons "Mommie Beerest" talkback (spoilers)

Well, I kind of liked this one. I mean, it was about as up-to-speed as a show that has been on for 10+ years (or better yet, > 1 decade) should and really can be. It has another obsticle to the Homer/Marge marriage, where Homer takes out another mortgage to save Moe's Tavern, and Marge goes into...

Weekend Box Office: 'Fockers' made more 'Noise'

Weekend Box Office: 'Fockers' made more 'Noise'

Saw The Aviator this weekend. Exceptional flick. Also, I have been wronged to see that A Series of Unfortunate Events made over $100 Million, after saying it wouldn't. But I still wouldn't get my hopes up and expect it to make back its absurd budget. As for the upcoming movies, well! Let's...

    Worst Nicktoon Episode

What is the biggest Nicktoon trash episode from a certain series? You know, that episode which you cannot bear to watch for a second? The one you immediatly change the channel on? I can name some from three of those right off the back. Hey Arnold!: Bag of Money-The whole school turns on...

    4Kids and Thundercats

I thought that Thundercats was entertaining and I would like to have Warner Home Video call upon 4Kids, the guys who helped turn Pokemon and Yu-Gi-Oh! into such cults, to make DVD's. That would be fun. And, I haven't really seen the new Ninja Turtles much, but one episode had a good tinge to it...

HA! Futher evidence that the executives that Nickelodeon Pictures don't know what the HECK their doing! American Dragon: Jake Long, The Good, The Okay, and The Bad...

I really should post here more often to express my opinion more, but I would have to say that this show is probably the best show to debut on Disney Channel, judging by the promos and whatever I saw. I thought that Dave the Barbarian was okay and I hated Brandy and Mr. Whiskers (which was quite...

Teenage robot "Holiday Special" (spoilers)...yeah finally!

Well, its about time this show came back... My Review: (2.5 Stars out of 4) Just like Butch Hartman and Craig McCracken, Rob Renzitti equivalates in animation to the likes of Quentin Tarentino in style. And, once again, he brings back his full flavor with a holiday episode of his Nickelodeon...

Altered Rugrats Movie airing on nick w/ new fotage. What's up w/ that?

Oh, that was added when CBS first aired the movie three years ago. You can only see it when they or Nick air the movie, or unless Paramount feels like putting out a "Special Collector's Edition" of "The Rugrats Movie" (I myself hope they do, since I liked the movie so much).
