In the defense of Oulween cutting the primetime hours that the user mentioned, kids weren't watching them anymore so no point keeping hours that kids don't watch anymore.
Stuart Snyder basically wanted Cartoon Network to be Nickelodeon Too, and the thing is I still contend that CN Real could've worked as a program block, if CN had employed the right kind of live action programming., i.e., cartoon adjacent shows.
@Goldstar! Would you say then that Out of Jimmy's Head had the right idea even if the execution of that show wasn't good? And even stuff like Ned's Declassified and Big Time Rush on Nickelodeon where they were more or less live action cartoons.
I doubt kids are gonna be watching Adult Swim, I'm more implying Oulween's taking advantage of how more adults than kids watch the primetime hours now. Though in general, kids have been watching less television in favor of streaming. Even Disney Channel and Nickelodeon have been airing premieres on Saturday mornings instead of primetime because of this.
So even if Cartoon Network were greenlighting more new projects and airing more of them on their primetime hours, it probably isn't gonna stop kids from going to streaming first. To put things in perspective, when CN had the primetime hours in 2022 and had their 30th anniversary reruns on primetime, apparently more adults than kids were watching. So changing demographics aren't gonna stop even with new shows.
