I’m someone who firmly believes there’s no faith in humanity and that we as a society can only go down and not up. But in turn, I don’t know who decided I can’t still show compassion to those who deserve it just because our ball is on fire. That’s what I hate about being marked a nihilist. Not gonna run over any kittens for sport. I can still just not be a prick.

This is exactly what got me blocked by Masterge77 on Twitter. He keeps going on about how anime is always better than western animation, because of everything bad that's going on behind the scenes. I do agree that western animation has seen better days, but it's not like anime has it perfect.

There was a post on this very forum about the current state of animation where the prevailing attitude was "Oh, whoa! Things are so bad and it'll never get better!", so I say "Hey, things will improve. They always do, so instead of complaining, why not try being proactive?" and then I get accused of "shutting down the discussion" and "telling people how to feel". Am I in Biazarro World?

I've been lambasted in forums before, but never for being positive. That was new.

My god. It's like these people have nothing better to do other than looking for stuff to complain about and not have a rational discussion. I may be a cynic when it comes to the current state of the entertainment industry, but even I would NEVER be a jerk towards anybody (unless they're being to me).

These people can go touch grass for all I care.

My suggestion: Don't base your moods on opinions from other people on this site. You will be an unhappy person.

If someone can argue their opinions rationally, it doesn't matter if I agree with them. They make the discussion interesting just by doing that.

Honestly, Goldstar, I'm seeing your point. In the most recent posts they've used that negativity to shut down discussion. Not on-board that.
