Word. Disney's films of late have gotten way too samey; I get tired of the nonstop princess movies and Pixar's 'What if (blank) were like people?' films. Their movies all look the same too; where's Disney's Bad Guys, Puss in Boots: The Last Wish or Spider-Verse?

I agreed, say what you want about John Lasseter, but he would do some films like bad guys, puss in boots: the last wish or spiderverse if he didn't get fired

Yeah, that's one of the main problems with Disney nowadays. They're being playing way too safe. Considering the fact that they are the most influential animation studio of all time, you would think of doing something different with their styles instead of letting your competitors doing all the work for you.

@harry580 The guy who created and milked Cars beyond all reasoning? Yeah, right.

There were three terrible Cars movies that were exactly the same, and I'm supposed to figure the guy who crapped them out would take creative risks. No.

Wokeness is a symptom of Disney's larger problem in that it's become a monopolistic mega corp that churns out manufactured slop and owns more in the industry than they should. It's a bloated, hollow machine that needs to be burned down and rebuilt from scratch.

@TheMisterManGuy how are they gonna do that?, make another chicken little style movie with the pop culture references?, make & release ice age 7 & rio 3 to theaters?, rehire someone who went insane?, bringing back direct to video sequels?

@Fone Bone cars 3 was alright actually. It was also the only one John Lasseter didn’t direct or write (he did both for the previous two). Make of that as you will

"All right" is not the same as a film taking chances. Pixar was turning into a mockery of itself by the time he left. It still hasn't fully recovered.

@harry580: Not the point at all. Backtracking and repeating past actions won't get Disney out of its rut. Disney needs to leave their comfort zone and try experiment with something new instead of relying on the tried and true like a crutch.
