It'll always be a tragedy that they had better Spider-Man and Avengers cartoons but ended them for adaptions that, while improving, still haven't reached the same highs as their predecessors. At least they have an excuse for Spider-Man.
It took them like 40 episodes to actually add another member to the team in Ant-Man, and now that the new season has started it's revealed he has already left.
I like how the Guardians cartoon is progressing, it does have some elements kept from the movie and even brought Ronan back to life, but the last few episodes seem to be going in a different direction.
The X-Men franchise is pretty huge as well but they're nowhere to be seen in cartoons. Not even Wolverine. The Inhumans just aren't as exciting as the X-Men.
Or the fact that, because of the movie rights, we can't get Scarlet Witch in the cartoons. I was really hoping to see her and Vision together in the same show, but that's not happening.
At least Wolverine and the X-Men and Fantastic Four: World's Greatest Heroes were solid adaptions, if cut short. Who knows what the quality would be like if they actually were making X-Men and FF cartoons right now.
I'm kinda worried/interested to see how far the cartoons will go in pushing the Inhumans. Obviously they're making quite a few appearances and will be part of a big storyline, but weill Marvel Animation give them their own cartoon? Before the movie is even a success?
Even with all their history, and how cool they can be, I don't think the Inhumans can support a cartoon or at least one with the longevity and dynamic characters that the X-Men have. And I say this as someone who likes the Royal Family.
They made like 52 episodes of Agents of SMASH even though there wasn't much there after they dumbed down and simplified everything from the Pak/Loeb era.
I'd like to see Scarlet Witch animated again. I can understand why they wouldn't want to add Quicksilver on the Avengers show but Wanda would have been nice to see.
