Cartoon Network International News Thread 27.0

they did do that before the feed mergers afaik
But now that pretty much all major European markets actually have HBO Max now, there really isn't much of an excuse to not promote HBO Max nowadays.

What they're doing right now is little more than pure laziness.

The only WBD Kids & Family EMEA feeds that have a legitimate excuse to not promote HBO Max are Cartoon Network Arabic, Cartoon Network MENA, Cartoonito MENA/Turkey, Cartoon Network Africa, Cartoonito Africa and Boing Africa. And that's purely because HBO Max isn't available in Arab countries and Sub-Saharan Africa at the moment.

Literally every other Cartoon Network, Boomerang, Cartoonito and Boing feed in the EMEA region that isn't already promoting HBO Max should honestly just start doing that now. There is simply put no excuse for this kind of behavior.

Not as lazy as Nick but you get it

Paramount+ and SkyShowtime do not cover as many markets in EMEA as HBO Max does, so the lack of promotion for streaming services on Paramount's global kids' TV channels is somewhat more excusable (especially when combined with the more homogenized nature of Paramount's global kids' TV channels compared to WBD's own ones).

I'd take a feed airing Pokemon and DBS over one with... Goat Girl and that stupid whale anyday.
as much as I can agree with this in a way I don't think it's fair to compare the European feeds with CN Africa CN in Africa lives in a environment where many Africans still watch TV and there is no HBO Max (and barely any streaming services actually) but the European feeds lives in an environment where many people go to streaming and kids watch less and less TV so that's probably why they care less

CEE and WE did promote HBO Max only once after they merged, which was when they aired that "Family Programming" (that included Harry Potter too) commercial during the ad breaks in both combined feeds' very first months of existence in 2024, when it was still called just Max.

I wouldn't mind if they start cross-promoting the streaming service again on both CN and Cartoonito, as long as it's TV ads during the commercial breaks and they don't insert the "and on HBO Max" thing anymore at the end of promos. That was a very annoying tactic to "infest" the channel promos (it is enough anyway how Pro TV and the Antena channels here cross-promote Voyo and AntenaPlay respectively on all of their promos)

And there are some regions in Europe where barely anyone watches linear anymore except the elderly, being much of Scandinavia and Benelux

I lost interest in my Cartoon Network feed many years ago

And now I've noticed that fewer and fewer shows are airing. I'm just glad that Clarence, We Bears Bears and Regular Show (2010) are still there.
I even lost intrest on CN MENA/Arabia feed fee months ago due to poor management's and strict nowdays

Yooo guys. This is a gem! Lost media found.

That dialogue exchange between the hosts is already comedy gold:

"George Jetson is beating up your brother!"
"This lady is about to cook your dad!"
"Your uncle is having a seizure!"
"Your sister is dating a crow!"

They still struggle more than the other European CN channels
They don't struggle as much as Italy and the UK. Even by promoting ended shows. They are forced to do this as they barely have new content to promote. That's why we got 2 acquisitions. WE and CEE look healthier than the other two and it's obvious.

heres the thing the acquisitions are not really that well....good just another bland european show that everyone is probably going to forget after a while where's the more action shows?

I didn't say they are good but they had to get something new. Wishful thinking as action in Europe hasn't aired for a while and seems that they are not returning.

it's not impossible though, stuff like Pokemon or those DC shows are good contenders, and frankly I am sort of tired of these european Feeds airing mostly comedies

The DC stuff doesn't have any legal baggage to it, unlike the Pokémon anime (which WBD does not have the rights to at all in EMEA outside of Sub-Saharan Africa and maybe Italy).

I'm just asking the HBO Max Europe team to bring back Justice League Action on HBO Max in all European markets (minus GR/CY), okay? And add Teen Titans (2003) to HBO Max in select European markets (for instance, Denmark, Sweden and Norway), even if it's just the first four seasons at most.

And don't forget: I want the HBO Max team to bring back seasons 1–7 of Teen Titans Go! as soon as possible! I don't want to be forced to start paying for linear just to watch those episodes.

We need options to watch these shows that don't require a VPN connection to Australia, New Zealand or Latin America.

And plus, the Finnish dubs of certain now-unavailable WBA titles (which many kids in Finland absolutely need in order to watch them in their mother tongue) were 100% exclusive to HBO Max, making their 2026 removal from the service all the more worse not just for kids but for dubbing archivists too! It especially stings because Cartoon Network has never aired its shows dubbed into Finnish!

You know, I can't find any videos of the 3D Arrow Era on CN UK on YouTube. I'm assuming this means they stuck with their own 2D version?

If there's not àny videos, then yes. Although someone here can confirm that.

Wasn't the look designed in the UK?
Not necessarily because the look is created in a certain country, it has to be used in that country. London and Britain are such a huge international hubs anyway, a look created from there is not even thought to be "British".

Plus, I believe the "EMEA" team and the "UK" team were different things, although based on the same city. They often looked a bit different, e.g. the EMEA usually opting for "cheaper" simpler approaches.

These are external links. The creative team can decide to make tweaks, or decide for something else altogether; probably out of "stubborness" too, e.g. wanting to look different from the rest.
Yes, AFAIK the UK team, which decides to do things in a slightly different manner, used these:

But not these assets

There's something about seeing kids cry after they mess up big time that really gets to me. One can definitely feel bad for Layla.
I don't know I gonna post it but i think I may had spread the disney abandoning blue sky studios like they did with fox kids/jetix propaganda onto awinger24 and now hes fears of paramount & warner bros
Europeans right now are experiencing the same Heatwave that africans face on a daily basis lol

honestly I like to think of this as some kind of "payback" too
1, 2, 3, vive l'Algérie!
But more exciting will be THIS! A new documentary about CN coming soon next year and looks like they even aknowledge Cramp Twins :ack:
