Cartoon Network International News Thread 27.0

But however, the only European countries that currently have Total DramaRama streaming are the UK (and even then, only partially and heavily censored), France, the Netherlands, Belgium and Italy as it is not available on HBO Max in Eastern Europe and because season 1 had since stopped airing, most of the Eastern European dubs of that season are lost as a result.

CBBC has begun airing season 2 recently, only on Fridays.
Perhaps soon, they'll start airing season 3 as well. And I think that CBBC had skipped a couple of episodes of season 2, including the infamous fart fairy episode.

This might have just been a NOW TV problem but for CN UK/IE there has been no subtitles and such since I first got the service (6 months ago) however today when I tuned into the channel, subtitles are back.

When you look at the new cartoons on CN EMEA that premiered in 2010, it was a remarkably quiet:

-new seasons of Bakugan and Total Drama
-Hero 108 (6 September 2010)
-Batman: The Brave and the Bold (11 September 2010)
-Angelo Rules (11 December 2010)

This is understandable given that a restructuring was happening in America. Still, it's a bit weird that they didn't premiere more Warner Bros cartoons in 2010. The Batman and Justice League were understandably left out because Batman: The Brave and the Bold had the same characters and it would have been "confusing". Mucha Lucha aired but years later in 2013 on CN Africa. Most other Warner Bros cartoons were a better fit for Boomerang (especially the Looney Tunes, Tom and Jerry and Scooby Doo shows).

But what about Xiaolin Showdown, Teen Titans and Legion of Superheroes? Why didn't those premiere in 2010-2013? It just doesn't make sense to me, they fit in perfectly with the other cartoons from that time. Why did they pick Mucha Lucha over Teen Titans or Xiaolin Showdown?

The premiere of Xiaolin Chronicles in 2014 was also so weird. Why not air Xiaolin Showdown first and treat it like a 78 episode series, just like how the Total Drama series were rotating in the same timeslots? Don't tell me it was too old by then, because Mucha Lucha was older!

It’s hard to say they’re catching up. I’d say they’re slowly downgrading with all the Total Dramarama reruns.
I say, Total DramaRama I consider only one of the "flaws" of the channel, like the other CN feeds currently have and how others stated earlier today...

Those WB cartoons were likely more expensive to clear the rights. Mucha Lucha (from January 1, 2013) was likely a bargain choice. They aired the whole show and by mid-2013 they were airing the movie.

We never aired Xiaolin Showdown. The sequel aired extraofficially here on TV5MONDE (because it was made in France) but not on a local channel.

There must be a reason why they keep Total DramaRama on CN CEE. It must be getting high ratings. There's no other reason for them to still air it. It's not my cup of tea either but I also understand why they want to keep certain shows and I can't get mad at it because my personal taste is different from their target demographic.

It's also possible that the new Total Drama seasons are planned to air on the channel afterall or at least be put on HBO Max. Don't see what the big issue is, it's not like CN CEE is airing 3 hours of it or something. They still have the rights for 1 and a half season and they're using that to their advantage. By next year the show will most likely definitely be gone for good.

To be fair, the reboot had only aired in Canada, the United States, Latin America, the UK, Italy (when it premiered there first), Portugal and Australia so far. With Canal+ reairing older seasons of the show, there's a high chance that the reboot might be dubbed into European French.

I lost interest in my Cartoon Network feed many years ago

And now I've noticed that fewer and fewer shows are airing. I'm just glad that Clarence, We Bears Bears and Regular Show (2010) are still there.

CN LA has gone downhill as they are putting their effort on HBO Max. Which has the best variety of cartoons as well.

However, it's the last of the big three kids networks that's still operating in Brazil as said country had lost Disney Channel last year and Nickelodeon this year.

Some even say HBO Max is the cause of the fall of linear CN feeds

I mean, CN WE isn't as exciting in its schedule variety as it was in its first year and that is only after Max launched in Germany (and thus completed the rollout to all of the countries received by that feed).

And in their logic, streaming makes linear obsolete.

i still fell for people that live in CEE though they have to deal with a mediocre and lazy schedule and mediocre and lazy Branding that's got to be tough, at least WE got a good schedule to balance out the lazy branding usage

At least both CN CEE and WE don't try to follow this "logic" 100%. They are trying how match they can to make most of their schedule, in their "limits". CEE doesn't have any limits practically, but they promote what they air and even the content with no new episodes. No other feed would promote ended shows like WE and CEE does. They still struggle more than the other European CN channels

And they don't promote HBO Max IIRC

Everyone applause these two characters, for soon getting their own spin-off full animated series!!! (who would have expected a series with PB and Marceline anyway? I know they have an upcoming comic book series which will go well with)

Watched Toy Story 5 today. It felt like another awesome escapade for the characters, while also they taught an important lesson: it's ok to be different, especially if you still like to play with toys. Lily turned from an antagonist to a hero of the movie, because of realising exactly that.
