Well, congratulations Knicks. I guess I should be happy for the team (because I am a Yankees fan after all). They have just been much more clutch this postseason.

Seeing a New York sports team win a title is good for NYC. Not really a big follower of basketball, however. I happen to like College Basketball much more.

Just like most of this series, it's the same script, Spurs lead most of the game but poop the bed in the fourth quarter. Lots of flagrants. Brunson played his superhero game with 45 points and is definitely winning finals MVP. This finals was a different story than last year's dramatic 7 game series that was almost perfect until the Haliburton injury happened. Next year Haliburton will be back and the Knicks will have to probably play a dramatic revenge series against the Pacers. Good job Knicks and shame on the Spurs for playing such bad fourth quarter basketball and making this a gentleman's sweep.

The Knicks notably never won a title in the years they were owned outright by the various owners of Paramount Pictures between 1977-94. When Viacom bought Paramount, they quickly sold off the MSG properties not only because they didn't want them, but also to help pay off debt.

Of course I do want Paramount's current owners to eventually buy the Lakers (including ownership of their RSN) to expand on the LA properties they already own, possibly get Lakers games not already on national TV streamed on the successor to Paramount+ (with blackout restrictions), and use the Lakers as a foot in the door to possibly getting the NBA back on TNT (now produced by CBS Sports) in the future.

Wow, this Knicks team will probably never have to pay for meals again in NYC. Congrats to the Knicks on finally ending their title drought.

Miami Heat get Giannis, Giannis Antetokounmpo trade: Heat land Bucks star in massive blockbuster, Celtics miss out. Not too surprising considering the Heat are one of only two teams (the Celtics being the other) to have multiple finals appearances this decade. Can the Knicks next season get past a Pacers with a healthy Haliburton and the new Giannis-led Heat?
