Nickelodeon cancellation/renewal thread part 2

Looks like Max and the Midknights could be ending too. It's based off a series with (currently) 3 books and was following the books pretty closely so....

Rock Paper Scissors and Wylde Pak better survive because if they don't, Nick is already in the same position as CN during 2022.

Looks like Nick and Nick Jr. have recently lost rights to Sonic Prime and Gabby's Dollhouse as both were recently removed from their respective On Demand libraries. If that's the case, season 3 of Sonic Prime will remain unaired.

Here is when both series last aired on the respective Nick channels:

Gabby's Dollhouse:
Nickelodeon: June 26, 2024
Nick Jr.: January 30, 2026

Sonic Prime:
Nickelodeon: March 6, 2026
Nicktoons: January 3, 2026

According to TV Insider and promo, Sonic Prime is back on Nickelodeon for new episodes starting May 15 every Fridays.

Also,

It is rumored that Patrick Star Show is ending after season 5.

And any proof that The Loud House is ending after 11 seasons?

Nickelodeon says it's NOT been canceled.

On Facebook post, writer Kevin Sulliman says:

"Thanks to all my friends who reached out over my last post regarding me leaving Nickelodeon. Just to clarify: I didn't quit, and Loud House has not been canceled. We're still waiting for word on a possible season ten, but in the meantime, season nine is done and despite my best efforts I wasn't able to convince the execs at Nick to pay me to sit around and do nothing. Drat drat drat. Hopefully there will be good news to report soon."

It's not like Nick's gonna say anything on if Loud House is genuinely gonna end though themselves. They said nothing when Fairly OddParents ended in 2017 with people figuring it out already with Butch Hartman leaving Nick and the show moving to Nicktoons for the final season. They also made no official announcement for Rugrats ending back in 2004 (or 2002 based on production timeline).

The show hasn't exactly been airing a lot within the last three years on the schedule so Nick has been losing interest.

Jessica Borutski also confirmed season 9 (which was split into seasons 10 and 11 in broadcast) finished months ago.

The fact it's been over 8 months with no renewal doesn't bode well for the show.

Between this, Max & the Midknights, and apparently The Patrick Star Show set to wrap up, what's left for the main Nick channel? Looking at what's left:
  • SpongeBob: Will go on forever. Only note is that it's got about 14.5 episodes left so far (1.5 left for broadcast season 16 and all 13 half hours of broadcast season 17) but it'd be surprising if they didn't get a season 18. With how the seasons since season 14 air across a year, that'd put season 17 to air around 2026-27.
  • Rock Paper Scissors: 14 episodes left across seasons 2/3 (or technically production season 2 split into seasons 2 and 3 for broadcast) with no renewal and no reruns.
  • Wylde Pak: Finished the entire 26 episode order for a month with no renewal in sight.
  • Live action's dead at this point, only NFL Slimetime is left.
Stuff like Seven Havens and Hollywood Arts are going to Netflix and the Garfield reboot is going to Paramount Plus, so I didn't bring them up and could likely just skip TV completely.

No new original Nicktoons or live action shows are lined up for this year either, no looking good.

Seven Havens is not going to Netflix

Hollywood Arts will air on mainline Nick not just Netflix

Garfield will also very obviously not be a streaming exclusive

Where did they say Hollywood Arts was gonna air on Nick? And it could be a case where it premieres on Netflix first and Nick only airs second run premieres, same case as Cartoon Network airing a bunch of CS and WBA shows in the early 2020s that were on Max first or Nick earlier doing second run premieres of Kamp Koral, Rugrats 2021, Star Trek Prodigy, and Transformers EarthSpark.

"SpongeBob SquarePants" and "The Patrick Star Show" renewed for more seasons.

SpongeBob SquarePants, starring Tom Kenny, has been renewed for Cycle 16 (Seasons 18 and 19 with 26 half-hour episodes in total) and The Patrick Star Show, headlined by Bill Fagerbakke, for Cycle 4 (Seasons 6 and 7 with 26 half-hour episodes in total).

Loud House, Rock Paper Scissors, and Wylde Pak still get no mention, implying all three are done with the latter over and the former two not getting renewed.

With only SpongeBob and Patrick Star Show renewed, looks like only the SpongeBob franchise will continue.

At this point we dont even know if Nickelodeon itself will survive.

Max & the Midknights renews for Season 4 (technically season 2b production). Still no word when season 2 and onwards will air on Nick. Last Aired so far was Jan 2025.

DORA has been renewed for season 6 according to Paramount global. Season 5 was supposed to air on NickJr channel but was pulled.
