Last week, Versant-owned Fandango Kids, which you may know from it being a rebrand of the esteemed Universal Kids back in September, has announced that it has acquired the domestic US cable TV and VOD rights to Nelvana and Toikido’s hit action-comedy cartoon Piñata Smashlings based on the Roblox sensation of the same name for this May.

Already premiered last year on major broadcasters like YTV, Teletoon Kapow! and GMTV2 to rave critical reception, the animated series follows a team of four Smashlings on their various quests throughout the Piñataverse to prevent rainbow pods containing their fellow critters from being falling into the hands of their worst enemies deep in the Swamplands, the baneful Bashlings.

This follows on from the success that Fandango Kids has received from airing other Nelvana acquisitions like Agent Binky, The Dog and Pony Show, Super Wish and the evergreen property Ruby Gloom.
