Let's be honest: you can't imagine anyone other than either Kikuchi-san (whose reprising the role from Tsubasa and xxxHolic) or Yuri Shiratori (the original seiyuu) voicing Mokona.
Two things:
1. Jack Quaid isn't voicing the sword. He's voicing the gelatinous cube.
2. All the talk about violence, and no mention of the clip of the Ill trailer involving a zombie baby getting punched?
Apocalypse Hotel was "a little meh"?!
Personally, I would also blame Takara/Tomy for this, as I could have easily seen Princession Orchestra as a possible nomination had it actually given a proper overseas streaming release (instead of people relying on fansubs).

I feel that this was a case of Cartoon Network having to wait until the airing rights for those shows expired before they can add them to the line-up.

Wrong.
When Ted Turner purchased the MGM library in 1986, it included the Tom & Jerry cartoons and the a.a.p. animation library (which consisted of the pre-1948 Warner Bros. color cartoons and the Paramount Popeye cartoons).
There's also some PD releases of the short (I remember seeing this as part of the PD shorts that were included in the original VHS release of The Care Bears in the Land Without Feelings).
