The only thing good about this episode was the fighting scene. Even that got boring after the same thing over and over again. Plot was horribly predictable before the episode even aired. I didn't even like the R/S scenes, and I'm about as large of an R/S fan as you can get.
Teen Titans has done a good job with the Robin and Starfire hints the entire series. Instead of shoving it in your face(except for DWD), the romance plot between them doesn't get in the way with the main plot of the season/episode. Unlike the Beast Boy and Terra romance that completely derailed...
But what do you tell the people that don't read the comics? Is this show purely just for them?
If you have 3, 4, or 5 new heroes every week, how are you going to develop the main characters if you spread out plot time so thinly among all of them?
When someone is in a near death situation, you usually feel concern or sadness. With the little characterization we had for Captain Atom, how can you expect anyone to genuinely care about his fate?
Anyone can see that the plot was clearly lacking and oversimplified. Granted it's just the first episode, but like randomguy, this episode serves as an indication of what's to come.
I will, I was actually looking forward to this series. But that doesn't mean that I'm going to let the few good qualities cover up the glaring bad ones.
