Yeah, I always wondered this myself. As kids, my friends and I would use it as a substitute swear word and never got in trouble for it. I always assumed it was used in the same manner as "friggin".
Personally, I'm of the belief that less-extreme (for lack of a better term) profanity, such as hell and damn, should be allowed in these types of shows. Obviously, it should not be allowed for kiddie shows, but shows like Regular Show, which was geared towards older audiences had Mordecai say...
