Yes, there have been a few. Bleach did consistently great at the top of the block for its full run. One Punch Man and Samurai Jack did really great as well, though to be fair, they had short runs. Attack on Titan and Sword Art Online both did well their full first seasons, though they're...
Considering how long they had reruns during halv the block and GitS was on and off enough to never have a full run in one go, I'd like for them to air season 2 right away.

This is incorrect. Gurren Lagann and particularly Sword Art Online did really well in that slot. I think when Sword Art Online was at 2am was the time we had five shows above a million viewers the most, with Bleach, Naruto, One Piece and Soul Eater being before it its whole run. Ocassionally it...
Most of the time movies came on were for holidays. When a month of movies in December were a thing, half the weekends would not have had the regular schedule anyway.
I don't mind Lupin III coming back on. It's a shame Hunter x Hunter is pushed back again, but that was only to be expected. The long runners are always either first or last. Interesting that they're putting it behind the other short shows. They often don't do that and it's not like Attack on...
I just don't think it's a good idea to have reruns early on the block. Doesn't matter if they're 3 hours old or of they're Dragon Ball. It wasn't good when Attack on Titan or Space Dandy had them either and it's probably the same now. I personally believe they should have had Super premieres at...
I wouldn't expect them to take the lead slot Samurai Jack no matter what they got.
The point about Funimation is good. That's definitely the reason. I do like that the Sand Whale and Me series and Jojo ends the same week. It is a shame that Tokyo Ghoul gets an early break as a consequence though.
