Here's the thing about the "morality" we're seeing in current cartoons:
It's finally NOT forced.
In the 80's, cartoons came under fire from relentless parenting groups and had to shoehorn in messages about drugs or strangers or sharing.
In the 90's and early 2000's, we had an extended...
So am I alone in being excited for this? I love everything to do with monsters, and the monsters in Uncle Grandpa had brilliantly weird designs. The short was also extremely funny and charming, fart jokes and all.
You guys are such huge pessimists.
Jeremy, I think you need to take these things a little less seriously. Blocks in general aren't a big deal...it's just a few shows being clustered together at the same time, not life or death...and this is a block aimed at very young children.
Ditto on the ending somehow feeling sweet and heartwarming. It takes serious writing talent to make me feel happy for two bigots being bigoted together.
That's not the proper definition of irony, you're looking for "hypocritical," but you would still be wrong. I don't agree with John's attitude, but Dreamworks films are completely different from his stuff, and it isn't even about their "humor"...John has consistently said that the ART is all he...
Antichrist wasn't a direct reference to any specific character, the joke is just that we have all these brutal demons and hardcore action going on only to find out that the ultimate evil is the kind of "evil twin" villain you would expect in a 50's comic or kid show.
Shows like this make me feel bad for the people who actually have to work hard on all the technical aspects. They don't get to choose the scripts or the style...and aren't always paid that well. I wonder how many will even put this series in their resumes.
Because he's the only person who...
Why's that? I like Leela MUCH better as a mutant, it makes her a cooler and weirder character. An abnormal human is much more interesting than an alien that just happens to look human. It also gives her character this great dynamic, with the rest of her kind so horribly discriminated against by...
Brian expecting his "murder" to apply to human law was a cute idea, I always like when the show plays with the reality of Brian being a talking dog in a world of otherwise "normal" animals.
He loves meat, though. I don't see why he'd suddenly decide to go vegetarian. It might have made better...
Uh...the joke is that Barney is too dumb to even count to three. It's one of the oldest jokes in the book and they did it more than once with Barney. It's a big stretch to make a penis reference out of it, no matter how "head" can be used.
You're all just thinking too hard about it because the...
Response seems to echo my thoughts when I saw the trailers. The role reversal is a fun idea, but kind of pointless when it's nothing but visual. The aliens just being funny-looking humans in a perfectly human world sounds like a huge waste of possibilities.
This might be the worst 22 minutes out of all Seth's series. I get what it was parodying throughout, but there were too many gross-out gags and just awkward, unfunny dialog. I could not have possibly enjoyed food while watching this special. What got to me more than the puke and the farts was...
Nostalgia is a word used very VERY frequently on the internet. Entire websites are devoted to it.
That was probably the best description but it's a little tough to put into accurate words. The dictionary defines it as the feeling or emotion you get when something reminds you of the past. When...
