haha I had completely forgotten about this thread. Please forgive my somewhat cheeky tone, I was still a kid back when I posted this... although, I still stand by my former opinion (which could have been phrased differently, I'll admit)
Oh, boy. 5 years already.
This should be a standard for all DCAU direct-to-video films, cause it was pretty darn near perfection.
Story was great, nicely paced, with lots of action and interesting moments of drama (of course, with ancient greek gods involved, it's easy to have drama ;) ). The chemistry between WW and...
Haven't been around in a LONG time, but I just thought I'd stop by and share in my 2 cents on this DTV as I'd been looking forward to it for quite some time.
Overall, I think it's a good movie. Not once did I feel bored, or cringe at ridiculous lines of dialogue, which usually happens to me a...
Well I consider myself pretty not easy going when it comes to animation. I've seen too many boring and mediocre shows or DTV (in which I include such things as the first JL series, the Avengers or the new Hellboy DTV - all had great potential and all pretty much failed at raising my interest...
No one is attacking anyone, I am truly sorry you would think that. I was just giving you an honest response and advising you to keep it cool in a thread that's supposed to be thankful, and certainly not hostile.
That being said, let's get back on topic everyone. If you feel like commenting...
Excuse my French but how the hell is this kind of post supposed to fit a thread like that? This is a place to celebrate the DCAU universe, to say thanks to a great creative team which has obviously inspired us all, including you... and ALL you can think about is yourself. This kind of agressive...
Great job guys. My favs are Silver Knight's stylish take on the lovely couple, Outie's dark / somewhat nostalgic depiction of the Watchtower and psi_freak's cool Nightwing... but they all look good!
I, for one, strongly disagree with your review, good old Jamesy. I found the whole use of the Anti-Life Equation to be the best deux ex machina ever used. Like Jack said in Nightmare Before Christmas, "it's the point of the thing, not to know!" There is a whole beauty behind the mystery of the...
Well little things, like Superman or Wonder Woman's cheek lines, or John Stewart's costume that for some reason always looked a bit outdated to me. Some of the villains, like Luthor, looked too detailed too, with only a few lines added from the STAS design that made the design harder to animate...
I completely agree. The revamp really turned JL into a totally different show, with better designs, animation and storyboarding, not to mention better stories but that's for another thread.
Even if in the end, they weren't that different, the JL designs were a bit too complicated, too...
Let me try this rating thing...
"I Am Legion" - 3.5 stars. Nice opening episode. It definitely lacked some excitement, but after the Cadmus ark and Epilogue, what do you expect?
"Shadow of the Hawk" - 2 stars. I felt underwhelmed with that episode. For some reason I just couldn't care for...
Just as an update, busy Romain only got the pencils last week, inked it a couple of days ago and will finish the colors tomorrow... so in the end, it's really more up to busy Kris ;)
I really like the last one of the first batch, very good linework there. Try to avoid making female hands too big or thick, it makes them lose their grace, like in the latest one you just posted...
Keep up the good work!
STAS is not an under-rated show, most people on this board like it quite a lot actually. I liked it too. BTAS was probably my fav because I've just always thought Batman was cooler than Superman, a normal guy dressed up like a bat being closer to me than a super strong alien from Krypton. But as...
