Looney Tunes Altered Versions Discussion v2 (or, the Looney Tunes Dumping Ground)

I wasn't aware until recently but the "Stars of Space Jam" DVD set got a R2 release this September, with English and French audio. It has the same content changes from the VHS collection and despite it being released way after the new waves of LT restorations, it surprisingly still uses...

    MGM Cartoons version differences discussion

Ah thanks, I was also guessing it could be stock music but wasn't sure. That also reminded me of the Sunset package LT cartoons x)

    MGM Cartoons version differences discussion

Does anyone have any idea where the music cues used in alternate m/e tracks for older MGM shorts from the 30s-early 40s (ex: The Milky Way, Red Hot Riding Hood, most Happy Harmonies shorts...) come from? I haven't watched a lot of MGM shorts outside T&J and Tex Avery so I wonder if they simply...

Looney Tunes Altered Versions Discussion v2 (or, the Looney Tunes Dumping Ground)

According to Jerry Beck, "The Crackpot Quail" (1941) will be included as an extra feature on the Tex Avery Screwball Classics Vol. 3 Blu-ray... but with its original soundtrack (which means it will finally have the original "raspberry" noises instead of the whistling heard on all other prints...

Classic Cartoons on TV (in the world)

Unfortunately though I heard they recently got rid of all their classic library because of HBO Max's Latin Amercain release :(

Classic Cartoons on TV (in the world)

Here in France, France 3 began airing classic LT shorts every Sunday morning in January I think. They stopped around March but resumed in April. Their rotation is made up of HD-remastered shorts from the Golden, Super Stars and Platinum collections, all with the new French dubs from 1997 and on...

Indeed, besides Big Top Bunny has the same issue and some pre-48 shorts have altered endings like in their EU dubbed versions.

Looney Tunes Altered Versions Discussion v2 (or, the Looney Tunes Dumping Ground)

I noticed Odor of the Day on CN Japan has an odd 1998 disclaimer similar to those of the Stars of Space Jam shorts. I'm not sure at all but it may be the case for other shorts as well.

Looney Tunes Altered Versions Discussion v2 (or, the Looney Tunes Dumping Ground)

So the Bugs Bunny 80th Anniversary collection released a few days ago (and I'm waiting for my copy to come in the mailbox). Apparently it has Portughese audio besides English and French. Unfortunately though it seems that the following shorts still have those HBO Max edited title screens :/ *...

Looney Tunes Altered Versions Discussion v2 (or, the Looney Tunes Dumping Ground)

Exactly, as well as a few of the unrestored 1997 dubbed shorts (the ones included in such VHS releases as the Stars of Space Jam collection), the B&W shorts and several other trackless post-48 shorts.

Looney Tunes Altered Versions Discussion v2 (or, the Looney Tunes Dumping Ground)

True! Otherwise, I made a list of shorts that have a music-only track. I was able to identify them as a number were entirely or partially released on DVDs/Blu-rays and/or the "Carl Stalling Project" CDs, and a lot of music cues are featured in (mainly post-1995) foreign m/e tracks, DVD...

Looney Tunes Altered Versions Discussion v2 (or, the Looney Tunes Dumping Ground)

I also noticed "Chaser on the Rocks" is missing its ending card on both HBO Max and the Boomerang streaming service.

Looney Tunes Altered Versions Discussion v2 (or, the Looney Tunes Dumping Ground)

So the new HBO Max restorations came up and look beautiful, but they have several issues. Notably, for some reason, most of those remasters have digitally-edited rings and title card borders (some of them really look awful) to fit the whole screen, instead of the usual black borders. They also...
