Personally I think we as DC/Batman/superhero fans tend to overstate the greatness of BTAS, equating it with its importance and legacy instead. I think its wonderful it has such an impact, and I think it is a genuinely great show, but there is often a discontinuity with how some people see the...
Would've torn Epilogue apart into a billion pieces then flung it into the sun.
Also, made Wonder Woman my priority. Rewrite her so she was actually, y'know, Wonder Woman, and not random angry chick who is WW-in-name-only. Also would've written the Bruce romance off, remade her villains so they...
Argh! Politeness, reason, and an admittance of the subjectivity of the nature of fiction in terms of success and failure, you don't belong on the internet sir!
Yeah. I know. Hence the post that already explained that to me. And my embarrassed admission. Just above your posts. Right there. Above you. :p
EDIT: Also liked this episode. The Batman worship could've been downplayed a bit more, and I would've preferred if Batman arrived after the Joker's...
Huh? The second season is most often cited as the show's golden run, especially the Ba Sing Se arc, which is widely considered the greatest run of exceptional episodes in the whole show.
In my opinion, the best of BTAS is brilliant, but to ignore the lows of The Underdwellers, Batman in my...
I was about to point out the flaw in this logic until I realised we were discussing comic book heroes as animated, which by nature are always adaptations. So ys, I agree with Red Death, there are simply varying degrees of faithfulness and how many stories are adapted.
Personally I prefer "new"...
Woops, forgot to comment!
Anyway loved the episode. The teaser was very amusing, I love that Catwoman appears so much, since the BTBATB version of her is my favourite animated portrayal.
The main feature was a delightful mix of vampire cliches, Diedrich Bader deserves props for his awesome...
Well, much as I love BTAS, Avatar: The Last Airbender tackles it to the ground, beats it mercilessly, kicks it a few times, steals its wallet, steals its girlfriend, shivs it a few times, then hurls it into the sun. And that's the objective view.
I actually think that Martian Manhunter was one of the best executed characters on the show. I just think his origin, in all mediums, is cliched and trite. There is so much storytelling potential wasted in wiping out an entire race just for a single character. Combine that with it being done by...
I liked the way it was displayed as well. It works better in a lighthearted atmosphere than in TOwer of Babel in my mind. I've never really been a fan of betrayal stories unless written well, like Shayera's in JL.
