Further to what ShadowStar said, I certainly also remember it being reported that The New Batman Adventures was shown on RTE 2 some time before it's 2002 debut in the UK - I was pretty jealous back then!
Very interesting, and thanks for the clarification on this. I gave up on anything from season three of Batman Beyond ever making it to the UK and stopped checking the listings in 2002/2003, so my guess is that those episodes were shown sometime after that, but before the 2006 Toonami rebrand.
The UK television debut of The New Batman Adventures was indeed on Sky One in 2002, specifically Thursday 21 March 2002. At the time, it was a highly anticipated broadcast since it was an incredible four-and-a-half years after the series originally started airing in the US. Sky One ended their...
Although unlikely, it would be nice if Warner Archive revisited the Blu-ray release of Teen Titans season one to put the episodes in their intended (production) order.
This was the case on the original DVD release of the first season, and it's pretty clear when watching the series that "Divide...
I guess this makes up for Disney never putting out complete DVD releases of most of these series?
That even includes Spider-Man '94 that might have sold reasonably well if they'd put out a release alongside any of the older live-action Spider-Man movies.
In any case, I also hope the English...
There's interest in making Marvel animated movies, but unless I'm mistaken, neither Frost Fight nor Where Monsters Dwell were ever officially released on DVD, supporting the other statements in this thread that Disney no longer release any Marvel animation on DVD.
Picked this up recently and, as expected, it's a huge upgrade over the 4:3 versions as seen on the original DVD release.
I did notice that the episode order has been changed, however. The original DVDs had season one in production / chronological order, whereas the new Blu-ray release has had...
The widescreen version was indeed a crop of the originally-animated 4:3 image, just as Mask of the Phantasm was. There's a video on YouTube with some comparisons, and there's clearly more image to see in the 4:3 version, as with Phantasm and Return of the Joker.
On that basis, it would be good...
Disney/Marvel's position on this is really quite odd when considering Warner's position on the DC animated properties - and this is the only comparable barometer we have. The vast majority of Warner's DC animated series have had, and continue to have, physical home video releases, culminating in...
While the movie itself is naturally great news, the apparent lack of Blu-ray is a little disappointing, as if two of Warner's bigger cartoon franchises still aren't enough for there to be faith in an HD home video release.
Then again, there is precedent for this with both some of the recent...
It's very welcome and heartening to see Warner's faith in both Batman: The Animated Series and home video releases of their DC TV productions by actually committing to a high-definition release of this amazing show. Clearly, there's still money to be made by such releases based on the positive...
It was shown on the CITV Saturday morning block of the time called What's Up Doc? Over 1992-1994 they went through 60 of the original 65 episodes produced. And even in retrospect it is indeed very surprising it premiered on UK television the same day as the US. Pretty much every other later DCAU...
