Oops...you're right! Still a great scene.
I will say that his voice work when Toyman pulls the lever to send Talia to her final fate (and then accidentally resurrects Darkseid) was pretty amazing (and creepy).
Always feels like a part of my younger self passes each and every time I hear about a VA from the Timm/Dini/DC animated universe passes.
Mr. Cort was certainly terrific as the re-imagined Toyman for SAS and JL/JLU.
Spoiler alert:
The opening scene in the "Hereafter" JL episode where Toyman...
I absolutely adored the "Legends" episode of JL, and certainly Mr. Kier's distinctive voice was a significant contributor in bringing the campy villains to animated life and otherwise helped make the episode so much fun as well as why it so resonated with myself having grown up collecting the...
Just read the article. Quite illuminating! I knew that a lot of the VAs have passed, but seeing them all listed together is a bit jarring. Time marches on of course, and recasts, if done right, can still work out. For instance, I always thought that Rino Romano or Bruce Greenwood were quite...
Enjoyed the read, and also found the article you posted that resurrected the transcript from the JL panel at the 2001 SDCC which was also a huge treat for me as I was also there at the time.
It was great to be able to finally read a more complete account of what was discussed at the panel as...
Saw it at a local theater on Saturday afternoon. Theater had maybe 10-15 folks in attendance, including myself and my now-15-year-old son.
Movie is as fantastic as ever and it's always such a treat to see it on the Big Screen again. I remember seeing it maybe 6 or 7 times in the theater when...
Also saw the 25th anniversary showing at my local theater with my then 8-year-old son...we had a great time and it helped to cement his enjoyment of the series and the character.
Will definitely see it again if this screening is again near me...I have purchased just about every version for the...
Just had to say that if you are a fan of this film, you must pick up this new release even if you have any of the previous versions. The image and sound quality are magnitudes above any and all previous releases, IMHO.
From the very first shots, the image just jumps off of the screen and...
RIP Mr. Moll.
As with Kevin Conroy and pretty much any of the other characters from the Timm/Dini/Romano/and all of the others behind the glory that was DC animated universe from BTAS to JLU, it will be your voice that I will forever hear whenever I read or watch anything else with Two Face...
I was watching the "The Batman" episode that introduced Robin ("A Matter of Family") last night (with Mr. Conroy voicing Robin's father and Mark Hamill voicing Tony Zucco) and I'd say that Rino Romano did a very good job as Batman.
I wonder if he's still open to reprising the role sometime...
"I always roll my eyes over Andrea Romano repeatedly telling the story of him entering the recording booth and her saying "He was Batman!". Romano's recounting of the hiring process sounds like every possible hoary cliche, and actually tells us nothing because we've heard a version of that story...
Indeed the real "problem" with this entire topic is that it is literally impossible to point out too many standout performances from Mr. Conroy.
When you really think about it, it is no exaggeration to state that he NEVER had a bad performance, even in the less than stellar episodes of any of...
Good thread to have now certainly to aid with our collective healing process over today's tragic news.
It's so hard to pick even just a few of Mr. Conroy's finest moments. Certainly the ones cited above from MotP are amazing.
I just rewatched the Blu-Ray with my son earlier today (I think...
Long time member, but infrequent poster here.
But I've been with BTAS and the DC animated universe since Day 1...still remember quite vividly watching the premiere (live) of BTAS (at the "tender" age of 26) with my jaw on the floor thinking how they finally got it right!
And of course Mr...
Did they show clips from more than one episode? Maybe...again, I don't recall...I think I was just so awestruck being the presence of the folks who I so admired for finally bringing versions of my favorite heroes to the small screen that were finally done right with an appeal to both younger...
