Yeah, lots of comparisons to "Over the Edge." Personally, I always thought "Over the Edge" was pretty mediocre at best. A more appropriate comparison is to the "Gargoyles" episode, "Future Tense." "Future Tense" was much better than this, I think. I mention this all in more detail in my review...
