I bought the DVD, and yeah, it does retain elements from the original TBS broadcast. In addition to the commercial break bumpers, each half-hour begins with a preview of what's about to follow, with Gary Owen narration. An example from one episode: "Today, 2 Stupid Dogs open a door to a parallel...
This Twitter thread confirms my suspicion that John's toadies threatened and intimidated his victims into staying quiet, contributing to why it took years for this to come out.
I'm sorry I ever looked up to Eddie. Ugh.
Yeah, John K. did have someone stalking him. She went to prison for it, and when she got out she drew cartoons about her experience, which ran in a LA newspaper.
Not that this excuses him. Holy cow, is that letter painful to read. Especially since Robyn Byrd wrote on Twitter today that John...
That actually aired together with "Fire Dogs 2". In a typical John K. fashion, he was late with the episode, with only half of it being completed, so they decided to split it into two-parts. The first part ran short, so they filled the rest of the slot with the original "Fire Dogs" short and the...
I've had my encounters with all three of them online. It can't be overstated how big of jerks and snobs Worth and Fontanelli are. I think Worth even posted on ToonZone many years ago, when TTTP was still active here.
I'm not surprised all three enabled him.
Byrd indicated on twitter that Fitzgerald, Worth, and Fontanelli were enablers, stating that "all of them were major enablers and weirdly involved with [John's] perversion".
Bit of a late news, but it never got reported on ToonZone. Some of you might remember a short-lived Showtime cartoon called "Free For All" from 2003, about a 19-year old guy and his dysfunctional life.
Brett Merhar, the creator, was murdered last July in Hollywood. He was 46.
"Free For All"...
Joe wrote more about the special on his blog, including what it's going to be about.
At least couple of original writers from the show, Doug Lawrence and Martin Olson, came back to help with the story, so there's that, at least.
This should be interesting. I consider "Rocko" to be the best show to air on Nick, and has a special place in my hearts.
Joe Murray is confirmed to return on the special. I wonder if anyone else from the show will return, including the voice actors.
So Matt Groening is working on a new animated show for Netflix.
It can go either way on whether it's good or not. I mean, Futurama, which came out during the Simpsons' decline, was a fine show.
