I was primarily considering buying these because I was wondering what the hell the original context was for most of what goes on in the show...this is infuriating.
Actually, 2010 is a filibuster date. If Imagi does not produce a sequel by then Mirage can take the license elsewhere. Right now Imagi is stalling when it comes to sequel talk beyond rejecting all Mirage script proposals and making abstract statements about making the Turtles "even funnier"...
Trigun was one of their most popular series as well, but they gave that one up. In the end, it's probably a good thing in the case of earlier anime because they can air uncut elsewhere. I wanna see Bebop some more, but sitting through episodes like Wild Horses is tough when there's no Real Folk...
I really hope they get better writers next time. Raph versus Leo was pretty good but the rest of the movie was toned down to a ridiculous degree. The first movie had cursing, hitting people with the weapons and a more serious tone underneath the joking.
It seems the censors were upset the...
It's a rip off. They'll probably do what they did with Hakusho and rerelease the same episode line up squished onto a two disc set, sans the books, for 30 bucks.
The first Turtle movie is still the best. Cursing, jokes that were actually funny and real fighting. I love the scene where Mikey has his nunchuck duel with the foot soldier and in the CG movie he couldn't even use them to hit anyone.
That said, the movie is art compared to movies two and...
How about different styles for different worlds? CG for Destiny Islands, anime for Traverse Town and Hollow Bastion, Disney style for those worlds and claymation for the Nightmare Before Christmas worlds. Maybe even illustrations for the Pooh books.
I think the remaining episodes will be dumped on Jetstream since they're currently testing repeats there. That's a shame, but it's better than being dumped at 5am like Cyborg 009 and Hakusho.
On the other hand, Funi at least gives you uncensored video and the original music (and eventually the japanese language track so you'll never have to listen to the dub if you don't like it.)
However, for a dub in 1994, that was pretty great. That Funi seems to have adapted similar elements...
It would be different if Funi refused to release a subtitled japanese language track. As far as I'm concerned, they can be as inaccurate as they want because people who want to watch the original will get to.
It's much different than a 4Kids situation.
Yeah, that's really weird. Maybe Funi needs more time to dub or WS wants to make sure they edit all uses of the word "retard". Since apparently that's out of bounds now.
You're wrong Master Moron. There was no opening or closing credits attatched to the Fix copy of the episode. The run time would fit under the usual 22 minute limit as the fix clips were split by 2 6.5 minute clips and 2 4 minute clips. Hence why it still ran under time on TV with the Op and Ed...
Yeah, it was "half-tard" specifically. It must have been a last minute bleep since it was still on the CC. I don't get what CN's S&P was thinking. Is there a quota on bleeps?
