    DC Comic's new He Man

I'm torn on this one. I've always loved He-Man, but I read a recent interview with the creator in which he said he wasn't familiar with the property before getting involved with the title. That's never a good sign. But, I do have the title preordered and will giVe it a chance.

Important info about the Swine Flu

That's because there are so many strains of flu, and the flu is constantly mutating. The seasonal flu shot is a different strain each year, and does not protect against all the strains that are out there. Because there are so many strains, and only so many resources to make a vaccine supply...

Dark Horse Comics for April 2009: What Are You Buying?

I'll be getting B.P.R.D.: THE BLACK GODDESS #4 (of 5)/ Might pick up NEIL GAIMAN PRESENTS: THE TWILIGHT OF THE GODS AND OTHER TALES if I get a good discount on it.

Do you go out of your way to visit your comic shop on new book day?

Yep, that's the one. 40% off all new issues, and sometime even bigger discounts on TPBs (and they often offer 75%+ discounts on the first issues of new series or the first issue of a new creative teams' run on an existing title), and shipping usually costs me less than $8. They've done great...

Do you go out of your way to visit your comic shop on new book day?

Nope, I don't go to comic book stores at all anymore. I stopped going mainly because there just wasn't one close enough to where I lived, and it becamse more cost effective to place my orders online. We just had a comic book shop open in my neighborhood - about 5 minutes from my house - but I...

This Month in Comics: November 2008

I've been really curious about Gotham Underground. Looked kind of interesting in the ads, but I decided to wait and see if it got good buzz. Glad to see someone recommending it - I'll be picking up the trade at some point.

    "Joker" Graphic Novel Talkback (Spoilers)

You mean the guy Joker kept calling "Abner"? Yes, that was the Penguin. King zrz: you should probably know before you go out to buy this book that it is essentially an "elseworlds" style story - it's out of continuity, and has some very different takes on some of the characters. Don't go...

    This Week in Comics: 01/09/2008

Holy cow! I never thought I'd see the day....they've finally released Fell #9! This is my pick of the week. Though they lose points for keeping such an erratic schedule with this title, the compelling writing and relatively cheap price are more than enough for me to give this book the thumbs up.

What Are You Listening To? (Fifth Album)

A friend of mine bought me a Cd by "The Mars Volta" for Christmas. I dug it, and I've picked up a couple of their other albums as well. So, I'm all about the Volta right now.

CBC Forum Mod Changes: Farewell Clayface, Welcome Xurk!

Hey all! Thanks so much for your kind words. I appreciate the sentiment, I really do. As Ed said, I will still be around. It's been a full and busy year for me, with my marriage to my girlfriend of 13 (!) years, the purchase of a new house, and added responsibilities at work...

DC Comics Solicitations for March 2008: What Are You Getting?

I think I'll be picking up: ABSOLUTE SANDMAN VOL. 3 - Hot dog! I love these new Sandman collections. BATMAN #675 - AS much as I hate the fact that they're resurrecting Ra's after the perfect send-off he had in Death and the Maidens, I've got to hand it to Grant Morrison for writing a...
