Regarding the CBS Saturday Morning schedule for 1987, I read that one cartoon that never got a chance to air was the Garbage Pail Kids cartoon, due to the fact that it ended up being a target of parents' groups, on the grounds that the cartoon supposedly contained controversial themes.

Garfield's been lasting pretty long ever since it was first released in 1978. So far, it's had 12 television specials, 2 live-action movies, 3 direct-to-video animated films, and 3 animated TV shows, the newest one having just been released.

Even though I don't watch "The Loud House", I'm actually glad that it was able to last this long on Nickelodeon, even when rivaling SpongeBob in terms of popularity.

A lot of people are getting sick and tired of SpongeBob always winning KCA! Come on, let a different cartoon win for a change! Then again, Nickelodeon has no intention of letting another cartoon win the KCA, especially considering that they want SpongeBob to last forever.

I definitely remember those! The ones I remember seeing were for Scooby-Doo, the Hillbilly Bears, 2 Stupid Dogs, The Flintstones, and Huckleberry Hound.

Funny you should mention FernGully, because I remember back when I was really young back when that film first came out, I at first thought that it was a TV show, but I realize now that it was actually a film.

A friend of mine on deviantArt actually made a status post talking about this, and while I didn't see the LarryBoy Cartoon Adventures when they first came out, I watched them years later on YouTube, and they were actually pretty good.

I'd probably like to see something more akin to the ABC Weekend Special, or even CBS Storybreak.

I just hope that Pixar will start releasing their movies in theaters again, because before this whole pandemic started, not once did I miss watching a Pixar movie at the theater. But then that streak ended up getting broken when Soul skipped theaters and went directly to streaming instead.

I remember watching all three of those shows as a kid, and, say what you will about them, I actually enjoyed all three of them regardless.

I recall back in 1991, they actually did an animated Christmas special with Opus and Bill as the main characters called "A Wish For Wings That Work". So far, that's the last time that any of the Bloom County characters have ever been animated in any way.
