    Your fondest DCAU/DC Animated memory?.....

Being a child of the late 70's and 80s, I would sit down every Saturday morning and had to put up with Wonder Twins and PSA ads with DC characters. Then, all of a sudden, ABC changed its concept and it was the Legion of Doom versus the Justice League of America. WOW!! Just the opening intro...

DC villains made famous because of animation

When I think of villains who became famous from being animated I think of the shows that inspired a lot of the creative geniuses behind Batman:TAS, Justice League, B:TATB, etc. Bruce Timm, James Tucker, Paul Dini, Geoff Johns, etc have all referenced Super Friends as their early inspiration...

What show did you like better and why? Superman: The Animated Series or Justice League?

My favorite J'onn moment was in "Hereafter" when he said something to the effect "How many battles did we win simply because he (meaning Superman) was there?" I laughed pretty hard that I think I had tears in my eyes because I thought J'onn was being a comedian. By that point in the series...

What show did you like better and why? Superman: The Animated Series or Justice League?

The JLU Finale "Destroyer" was a fitting tribute to the Batman/ Superman inequality. Superman makes a big speech about being "in a world made of cardboard", gets in a couple of big punches and is easily disabled by Darkseid. Meanwhile, the Dark Knight is becoming the first to dodge Omega...

What show did you like better and why? Superman: The Animated Series or Justice League?

Superman. In the first season of Justice League, the transition was pretty rough for the creators when it came to how they handled the Man of Steel. It always seemed like Superman was the first to taste asphault in a big battle. Justice League should have been called "Batman and His Amazing...

Beware The Batman "Hunted" Series Premiere Talkback (Spoilers)

I would have liked if they gave Alfred some hair on the sides like Sean Connery which is what I thought they were kinda going for in this interpretation of Alfred. My son thought it was Lex Luthor when he first showed up attacking Bruce Wayne. I'm interested in where this series will progress...

What would Justice League Unlimited be like with Batman villains?

After the terrific Cadmus arc, the Legion storyline was sort of disappointing. I feel like there was a lot of wasted potential there. I don't think the inclusion of Bat villains would have substantially improved that story arc. I do agree with others that it was too much Luthor after his...

Does DC animated series need fresh visions?

I agree with th necessity to keep it fresh. I grew up with Superfriends but I don't think you can get away with that kind of basic story structure and animation again. Bruce Timm and Co took some elements but gave it a more mature polish. I do think a new series with a fresh take is needed...

Bruce Timm steps down as DC Universe Producer/Future Projects?

In interviews with Tucker on this very site, he has mentioned about doing justice to the character of Superman and paid homage to his Silver Age exploits in B:TBAB. In JL/JLU, I think he did set the character back. First, he was a depowered wimp whose IQ was dumbed down substantially whenever...

Bruce Timm steps down as DC Universe Producer/Future Projects?

I really don't want to see JL/JLU picked up where it left off. I really had my fill of Timm's Bat-god and his version of Superman set the character back for years. While I do appreciate his commitment to the characters, I think James Tucker has more respect for Superman than his predecessor.

Young Justice: Invasion "Complications" Talkback (Spoilers)

I really liked this episode as they focused more on the original members of the YJ team. This episode really furthered some great plot points. I have been critical of this season as to me there has been too many "filler" episodes. But, this was more like the episodes I loved from previous...

Young Justice: Invasion "Runaways" Talkback (Spoilers)

I haven't been the biggest fan of this Invasion story arc. It seems to have handcuffed the season as some of the episodes have felt like filler episodes. Hopefully, the end will justify the means.

"Man of Steel" Movie Pre-Release Discussion, Part 5 (Spoilers)

I, for one, am not against a more realistic take on the character. I just don't think it needs to be so dark. While I was not a fan of the direction "Smallville" took in later seasons, I did like the tone of the first two seasons as young Clark was coming to grips with being a teenager and...

    Ultimate Spider-Man "Doomed" Talkback (Spoilers)

I'm not one of those who needs their super-hero shows to be serious and grim. But their heroes need to be grounded in its own reality. Just look to Batman: The Brave and the Bold for a recent example of a lighthearted show done right. James Tucker and Co. took great care of the Batman mythos...

Ultimate Spider-Man "Great Power"/"Great Responsibility" Series Premiere Talkback (Spoilers)

I thought the tone of the show was very inconsistent. I thought the writers of the Spectacular Spider-Man took better care of the characters and the Spider-man mythos than this show. The characters in Spectacular had greater depth and Peter Parker's inner angst was played much better. Plus, I...
