Synopsis: When the team investigates the...
I just spent the better part of an hour reading that thread over there and while that may seem like too much time to have spent on it, I did find a post nestled in that massive thread that the film was released on Netflix On Demand streaming in 1080p in full 4x3 (no boxing). I'm not a Netflix...
WHV's exact words were "4x3 matted." "Matted" is how JL S2 was described on the back of the packaging, so...I really wouldn't be surprised if that's how it looks. And as Kirben said, it's not as if WHV is any stranger to making some strange and annoying aspect ratio choices. It's not 100%...
Well for the center portion it's accurate, but yeah you're right...the bars on the sides are going to suck too. Let me re-tweak that image:
Please note: that's a mock-up I made from a 480i grab from the ROTJ Uncut DVD previously to show the amount of black bordering on it. The animation...
We just got word from WHV and BB: ROTJ on Blu-ray is indeed 4x3 Letterboxed. So they probably just took the same source they used for the DVD and have gone with that. So it's going to look like this again:
Thankfully that image makes me calm because I pretend Bonk is choking WHV.
Animated in 4x3, although for the "uncut" release they matted it in 16x9 as that's what the original intention was for it. Of course the DVD was still 4x3 with a 16x9 letterboxed frame...which I fear is happening again here.
But time will tell...and we'll probably end up with an HD, carbon...
Yeah, that's what it was. I saw no point re-reviewing the series when we already had reviews of the individual seasons (that and I had a pile of 18 other movies/TV series box sets I had to review, so I wasn't exactly looking to create more work for myself) so I just copied and pasted and put...
I'm holding the final retail copy in my hand right now and I'm sad to say your instincts are wrong. I pulled that 1:12:35 run time off of the disc itself. From the looks of it they used the master copy that aired on TV (16x9 letter boxed into a 4x3 frame with the "cut" run time) as the DVD...
Yeah Kelly Hu is the assistant...who doesn't really do much of anything. And neither does The Riddler as he's part of a flashback.
Nope. Neither does Gordon.
Amazo is in the movie, but not at that point the shot of Gordon was taken. I think those are just backgrounds lights of some kind
I'm not sure; I think I heard the guts of this particular Insignia Blu-ray player was a Samsung. It's just like the Olevia TV I bought years ago--the panel in it was an LG one, so it's not like brands even mean anything anymore unless you're one of the actual manufacturers of the hardware. Then...
The update is just due to Fox's anti-piracy security thing on it. All of their discs have caused firmware update issues for as long as the formats been out; it's just that none of the releases have sold as wide as Avatar, so it's more of a publicized issue. There's rarely a new Fox release that...
In both instances he really had no choice, but he also didn't seem that reluctant about doing it. But then again his character in the entire piece was a lot more moody than usual...even for Batman.
Yeah I'm a broken record on Spawn:TAS...but honestly with the way Spectre coiled in and out of frames with the swirly cape motion, it looked a lot like Spawn's cape. I can't help it!
Considering the screening was on my own PC with a heavily DRMed copy that had questionable video quality, I'm...
