We're giving away free copies of the Attack on Titan Anthology Free Comic Book Day sampler (while supplies last), and I thought I'd stop lurking and let people here know. There are still about 100 left.

There's also...
I bailed on Shippuuden as soon as it became clear that Kishimoto was just going to prolong the story as long as it kept selling. I enjoyed Part 1 much more, but that may be nostalgia talking, as it was starting on TV my first year living in Japan, and I watched it every week with all my friends...
So, most of this episode wasn't in the manga. And I loved it. My wife compared it to Game of Thrones, where George RR got a chance to go back and improve upon the story for the TV show. If this is the level of quality we can expect from this show's "anime filler," bring it on.
We watched the most recent two episodes this last weekend. The highlight was definitely the punch through the tree and Eren's face. SPAKOW! Really well executed. The low point was definitely Sasha's line about the cry of a cornered animal. There were, like, four frames they reused over and over...
Yes, Jacob has it the other way around: The scene with the noble was in the anime but not the manga.
In the manga, there is a side story that shows the readers how amazing Levi is before he even shows up in the main story. I'm kind of bummed they didn't have the time/resources to animate it.
Yeah, this episode had some lazy stuff in it. Some of the eyes on the background characters look really lopsided, in particular. But this is a good flashback, and I'm glad they kept it where it was in the manga chronology rather than moving it as they did with the Training Corps flashbacks. It...
Three of the 10 manga on this week's NY Times Bestseller List are also Attack on Titan volumes. (Well, the NYT list is usually meaningless, but in this case these books actually are doing very well.)
The comment by Tachikawa does not surprise me. It's a new studio, and they seem to have been blindsided by the popularity the show has enjoyed (can't imagine why when the manga was already so popular in Japan). Hopefully they can grow their staff while maintaining quality.
Also, you guys...
We've done some clarification of the reward levels and posted more info about Triton on the front page, so I encourage people to check it out.
Tezuka in English also just posted a great page on the manga.
If you paid me I think I could bring myself to set aside my discomfort. :)
YKK is 14 volumes which would be tough. But we can convince the mangaka to get behind it, why not?
Helloooo!
Thanks for the plug, guys! As always I agree with everything Karl says unless it's about Koikaze. Can't wait to see you at AX, good sir! (And anyone else who'll be there and remembers who I am -- come say hi! I'll be at the Akadot/DMP booth all weekend.)
I'm also interested in seeing how Disney handles that scene if they do dub this film. I agree that it is a microcosm for the film and its mature, bold and complex treatment of its characters. It is certainly not a typical anime or a typical Ghibli film. Though I loved Tokikake and Summer Wars...
