I'm REALLY liking the show. The characters are strong, it feels similar to Breaking Bad in all the ways that matter but doesn't feel like a retread at all. They've captured Mike perfectly and it really feels like all of this happened before Breaking Bad. (Whereas most spin-offs will cheat and...
Kill la Kill isn't really suggestive in that way, though. Or sexy, and there's just as much suggestive male stuff as there is female. Plus... it's a cartoon. It's all done for comedy's sake. Plus given the fact that the characters had such strong personalities, I wouldn't say it's exploitative...
10-10:30 is pretty typical for YA animation. That's Justice League Unlimited's Slot when it was on Cartoon Network.
As for the midnight release, if anything that's a boon. Most of the people watching the show right when it premiers online are probably old enough to stay up until 1 watching a...
Eh, we still see it.
I'm no expert, so I can't name it exactly, but Lin and Su certainly have two VERY distinct styles of earth and metal bending. Lin's a cagefighter, Su's a dancer. Kuvira has her own style of earth/metal bending too. As do Bolin and the Twins. Then Ghazan was a lavabender. So...
Those things don't contradict bringing unity and stablity to the earth kingdom. It's just bringing unity and stabiltiy to the Earth Kingdom with horrible fascist dictator methods.
Basically more or less: "I'll unite you whether you like it or not!"
It's pretty much like Toph said. Kuvira has a good goal: Unity. It's just she's taking it way too far and turning everyone against her. Thereby undermining herself in the process.
They released the preview for "Battle of Zaofu". Looks pretty interesting, and I love the use of Seismic Sense. I'm Canadian so I can't link it on Nickelodeon, but it's probably there if you guys wanna check it out.
Looking closer, one thing I noticed about the shot of Su in the trailer is that...
Probably not very long. I can't imagine what Bolin could possibly say to persuade Su to sign a treaty to join a massive military-dictated empire. That pretty much goes against everything she stands for. Then what happens? Kuvira just leaves peacefully? I can't imagine that.
Next episode should...
Jeez, Kuvira practically flat out told Su she was coming for Zaofu, I would have thought before she left she would have asked one of the other world leaders for some military support just in case.
Kind of a nice little character building episode for the show. I liked the stuff with the siblings except the gross-out humour with Meelo. That was just weird. I loved the fact that he drew that picture of Korra, and them meeting Toph was nice.
I thought the Toph stuff was still great. The...
Pretty much my thought. This whole story is her legend.
Eh... I dunno. I think it needs some sort of dramatic send-off. Not another big battle like Ozai was, but some sort of big defining moment at the climax would be cool. Like, I just think as a concept the Avatar is just so freaking...
I don't think Kuvira was ever particularly sympathetic... she strong armed that governor into pledging his loyalty. Which isn't awful, but it's not a great sign of anything. I mean I guess you could make some sort of tough love argument, and I don't think she's being deceptive necessarily. (I...
