Co-producers of the James Bond film franchise Barbara Broccoli and Michael G. Wilson have ceded creative control to Bond's distributor, Amazon MGM.

Not good news IMO; while I'm a fan I'm honestly not that worried about whether or not I'll like future Bond films (we have plenty I like already), but it's hard not to feel it's likely to be another step away from films made by creative industry traditions and towards films driven by mega corporations, with all that entails. Still, I don't begrudge the Broccolis for wanting to enjoy a happy retirement and something like this was bound to happen with such a famous "brand" at some point, they couldn't control it forever.

It was inevitable once Amazon swallowed up MGM. We'll see what they do with it. I think Amazon knows they should keep making movies and not try to make a limited series, right?

But there going to probably…. Honestly I see the MI (Tom Cruise) as the modern Bond but that seems to on its way out with Final Reckoning so let’s see how they play this out

I can't blame on members for not trust with Amazon and I don't trust them either.

I don't have a bright future for future James Bond movies and it is too uncertain. I wasn't happy to see MGM sold This TV, Charge! and Comet last few years ago.

There is positive - MGM+, formerly EPiX is getting better and ScreenPix is same, so Amazon don't abandon the ScreenPix.

I don't know what to say.

Technically, the franchise is now in the hands of the group that, under several iterations, released the movies for 60 years.

With Amazon in control of the franchise, it need not necessarily be limited to movies.

I'd like to see a Bond TV series on ABC, which once was the TV home of the movies, which would be the first scripted TV show from MGM on ABC since The Young Riders, which aired from 1989-92.

Turns out Amazon only paid $20 million.
Considering how massive this franchise is, methinks EON got swindled.

A few weeks ago, Amazon announced a licensing deal to provide TVI's sister channel V+ the rights to 26 James Bond features (some of them TV movies) in chronological order. The airtime fluctuates a lot though.

Last weekend (or was it two weeks ago?) they aired the 60s Casino Royale.

Watched Toy Story 5 today. It felt like another awesome escapade for the characters, while also they taught an important lesson: it's ok to be different, especially if you still like to play with toys. Lily turned from an antagonist to a hero of the movie, because of realising exactly that.
